Macro Photography
(brought to you by QuickPro Camera Guides)
Macro photography is known as being “close-up” photography. Images appearing to be life-size or larger can be classified as macro photography. Shooting close up can really capture the fine details of subjects that may otherwise be overlooked.

Having the right lens is essential for shooting exceptional macro shots. Telephoto lenses are acceptable, but a macro lens will give you the best return.
To be able to focus on the most important and appealing part of your subject it is best to use a tripod to avoid camera shake. Focus is very important in shooting close-ups. If you are shooting a close up of an insect remember to keep their eyes in sharp focus. You also may want to use a somewhat fast shutter speed since getting this close to a subject is susceptible to even more noticeable motion blur. Since you will be using faster shutter speeds it is important to use as much available light as you can, and you may need to use your flash-possibly a lens-mounted ring flash.
Other tips to remember when shooting macro are to avoid cluttered backgrounds. They can take away from your shot, since you are trying to focus on the detail of the subject.
